The BIG Switch Off.

On their website, it states that letters will not be arriving on those affected doorsteps until early next week - that is almost one month since the laptops went missing, and one month since those personal details went with them! I agree with you totally. Regardless of the direction they claimed to be under (Garda) the delay in communication is shocking, and a blatant disregard and disrespect to their customers.

The BIG Question is, why were those records on a laptop in the first place? And why only 75,000 of the 100,000 signups? The only differentiator is the fact that the 75,000 had opted to pay DD.

Couldn't agree with you more on the idea of the presentation/creative running away with the measurement aspect, but as a first meet-up Lauren and the Mulley made it look effortlessly organised alright. Personally I view these events as an opportunity to see who's in the zone and who's just been sent down by the MD to bring them back a brochure on Twitter. Something in me believes that one of the most important aspects of it all for clients - a currently unrealised aspect - is the measurability of these media. Those nuts and bolts are where new media will stand head and shoulders above old media. They're not sexy but they're killer. Far more so than getting Glenda Gilsen into Stephen's Green of an overcast February to swan around in a pair of K Swift. Great review btw.

Thanks Peter - Yes definitely - I think it will improve with each run.

I think case studies are thin on the ground in Ireland at the moment because many here are just dipping their toe in the social media ocean. In keeping with the spirit of the Irish tech community, I'm sure they'll share once they have success stories under their belt!

Very good review Emily.

Do you think if you went to a second one you'd learn anything new?

Do people share their case studies on this stuff, i.e. share your success secrets? I don't think it'd happen with PPC or SEO, interesting if people are willing to share their social media triumphs.

Measurement camp crept up on me and I unfortunately missed it. Nice to see some structure at these events rather than the 'mix now and meet people' or 'just sit and listen' type. Suspect my shoe knowledge might have held me back
