Kilkenny couture milliner opens doors with a hat trick of offerings

Renowned Irish couture milliner, Linda McKay, is to open her doors to fashion savvy ‘cats’ later this month with the launch of her new studio and fashion consultation room in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny.

The studio, on Logan St in Thomastown, will be a must for any fashionista seeking the perfect headwear for that special occasion.  Along with bespoke, exquisitely hand-crafted hats and headpieces, Linda will also provide a range of ‘ready to wear’ pieces.  The milliner, who’s work has featured in fashion shoots from Vogue to Image Magazine, will also provide consultation on the entire outfit for that special occasion including design and embellishing shoes, handbags and corsages to finish off any special outfit.

“This has been a long-time ambition for me” said Linda McKay speaking ahead of the opening. “I’m delighted to be able to offer my loyal customers a new fashion haven to visit while opening my doors to others whom I have not yet had the pleasure of working with.  There’s always a tendency with designers like myself to hide themselves away in a studio, indeed I’ve done it myself for years! So, I’m very much looking forward to not only taking my appointments in a more accessible studio, but also welcoming people in off the street!”

“My bespoke headpieces are timeless and are intended to cross the decades and generations with grace and style.  Whether designing a headpiece for a client or accessorising for designers such as Jen Kelly and Paul Costello whom I have provided headpieces in the past,  I call on my experience as a designer to really put the ‘WOW’ factor into the occasion! I have provided hats for all occasions, from stunning stylish brides to best dressed ladies while also providing designs for high fashion shoots, theatre, film & television.  I’ll also be introducing my range of casual ‘ready to wear’ hats and accessories which will add unique flair without breaking the bank!”

As well as retail and bespoke millinery, Linda McKay also conducts one and two-day millinery skills workshops in her studio with a five-day master class in millinery held twice a year.  More details on Linda McKay and her Thomastown studio will be available on www.lindamckay.ie and on Linda McKay’s facebook page.
